"Mr. Miller - the last firm I chose (randomly) did absolutely nothing about our case (and has never returned a phone call - just took the money, from my point of view - never ever communicated with us). I investigated the reputations of individual lawyer's names, including on usenet. People tend to write mean hateful things about bad experiences with lawyers - no one has written anything negative about you. The picture of the folks in your firm said a lot to me - you look like a likeable group, and an awful lot of attorneys have no pictures up at all. The group picture works very well to say that it isn't just one person you're relying on. Your age mattered a little bit to me, as well, I wanted someone younger rather than older in this particular case.
Finally, your website itself contained so much helpful information and has such a comforting tone to it - as do your personal communications. This situation has been the most anxiety producing thing I've ever gone through in my life, and I'm no shrinking violet (I'm a professional anthropologist with quite a bit of experience in the real world, including consulting for both district attorneys and public defenders, sheriffs and police).
