Our firm, by department, practiced in the areas of DUI Defense, Felony and Misdemeanor Criminal Representation, Immigration, Personal Injury Law, Civil Litigation, Incorporation, and Estate Planning. We handle a variety of cases that have provided referral or co-counsel opportunities. In the last four years, we have shared fees with co-counsel and referring counsel totaling over $1 million dollars.
Referrals and Co-Counsel Relationships
We accept referrals in all our practice areas. We make appropriate fee agreements with all referring counsel based on a client disclosure and arrangements with the referring attorney, in accordance with Rule 2-200 of the Business and Professions Code.
We also work in co-counsel relationships, where there is an equitable fee split based on time and expenses expended. And, we'll work with another attorney or firm that has little experience in one of our practice areas but wants to learn more about that area in a case setting.
We handle all types of contingent fee civil litigation, flat fee, and hourly rate cases.
We encourage referring attorneys and co-counsel to let us know their practice areas and make our best efforts to refer cases outside our practice areas to referring lawyers and co-counsel who have expertise in practice areas different than ours. We have helped many attorneys not only boost their cash flow, but also provide competent representation in areas where they do not practice, thus ensuring competent representation for their clients, friends, and families.
We work the exact reverse of the high volume firms. We select a relatively small amount of cases and put a great deal of time and effort into them. We often investigate what seem like small cases from individuals and small businesses and discover a strategy that is best for a particular client or clients.
Our low volume practice allows us to spend a great deal of time on our clients' cases. We involve our clients in their cases and prepare the case with their goals in mind. Our goal is to treat every client as if they were a member of our family.
