Case Results
People v. Craig L.
June 2017. Orange County Superior Court, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach. Charges of a Hit and Run, Making a False Statement to the Police, Presenting False Documents, and Driving on Suspended license charges filed. The client met with the police, and then later found out a warrant was filed for his arrest by the California Highway Patrol and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for the above charges.
Results: All charges dismissed. Our firm filed and argued a Serna motion challenging the statute of limitations, resulting in a dismissal of the entire case.

June 2017. Orange County Superior Court, Harbor Justice Center, Newport Beach. Assault and Battery Charges filed.
Results: All charges dismissed.

April 2017. DMV Office of Driver Safety in El Segundo, Los Angeles County.
DUI, with an accident, and blood test at the hospital.
Case results: DMV set aside the license suspension, winning the hearing.

April, 2017. DMV Office of Driver Safety in Orange County.
Second time DUI, accident, and refusal of both breath and blood test. Forced blood draw revealed a .23% alcohol level.

August 2016. Riverside Superior Court, Riverside Courthouse. Underage DUI Charges filed. A breath test revealed a .16% alcohol level.
Results: DUI charges dismissed, client pled to infraction public intoxication, which leaves no criminal record, or driver’s license record.

DUI with a high blood alcohol level alleged in court. The breath test was a .18% BAC alcohol level.
Results: DMV hearing won, and the client’s license was reinstated.

Law Firm Success Rate:
A lawyer’s success rate is typically defined by his or her win-loss record, but that doesn’t always tell the whole story. Circumstances play a big role in determining whether a case outcome is successful for the parties involved. In many cases, a successful outcome does not always even mean there was an acquittal.
Consider this example: A client with an extensive criminal record has a major new charge against her that could result in significant jail time. Success for this client could be a conviction that does not result in jail time or one that results in a much lighter than expected sentence.
Also, consider that a lawyer may receive a bad ruling — impacting his or her win-loss record — but successfully gets the loss overturned on appeal. Is that a success or a failure?
